What
is studying Hebrew in Home Ulpan, and why should you learn Hebrew
at Home Ulpan?
Home Ulpan is a unique
experience of learning Hebrew and living with a typical Israeli
family.
In addition to
an intensive Hebrew study
program in Home Ulpan,
students experience the
Israeli lifestyle and culture closely.
Hebrew study program takes place at the teacher's house, in a
pastoral rural environment.
Trees, rocking chair, almost always sunshine and the beautiful
garden.
The tea that is served in a pot contains green leaves from
the garden - mint, lemon grass, sage.
The Jam that served is made of Chinese oranges who are picked
from the tree in the garden, and if you will able to come in the
season – you will have organic figs, oranges, tangerines and peaches
from the trees, and sometimes even peaches (in May) from the garden,
within easy reach of students.
How does Home Ulpan – learn Hebrew work?
The
students are hosted at the teacher's home.
Eat
with her and her husband breakfast, and then learn Hebrew for 4
academic hours.
In
the afternoon the students are busy with homework at home, in the
front garden or back garden on the swing chair, and yet exposed to
the Hebrew language when they hear the family talk amongst
themselves and with students – in Hebrew,
We will not
forget our friendly dog Demo who is used to getting
instructions in Hebrew and in language accented from our tourists
coming from all over the world.
Hebrew and the Israel lifestyle are around them 24 hours a day even
when the students are going to buy groceries at the supermarket
market, walking to the local amazing falafel and shawarma store,
sitting in a cafe where the waiters speak only Hebrew, or when they
walk in the magical Jezreel Valley.

Ulpan teacher is almost 24 hours a day with the students.
In
Home Ulpan the students talk with their teacher's extended family
in Hebrew.
In
Home Ulpan the students are experiencing the
originally
Israelites and not just from stories, but from daily conversations
with the teacher with her husband and her family.

Home Ulpan students are exposed to Jewish traditions, the Friday
Kiddush or the Jewish holidays throughout the year.
